JULIAN FESTIVAL: 12 May 2012

The annual Festival will take place on Saturday May 12th at St Julian’s Church starting at 11.00am with Solemn Mass followed by the Julian Lecture at 12.15pm.
This year’s lecturer is Brian Thorne, Emeritus Professor of Counselling at the University of East Anglia and currently Chairman of the Friends of Julian of Norwich. He is the first lecturer to deliver the Julian Lecture for the second time having been the lecturer in 1993 when he spoke on the theme of ‘Julian, Radical Psychotherapist’. His title for 2012 is: ‘A love too great to bear? Julian’s gauntlet to humanity’.
Brian is Co-founder of the Norwich Centre for Personal, Professional and Spiritual Development and a Lay Canon of Norwich Cathedral. His many books in the fields of Psychotherapy, education and pastoral care include the best-selling ‘Behold The Man’ and ‘Infinitely Beloved’, both published by Darton, Longman & Todd and drawing on the inspiration of the Lady Julian.
Brian is a speaker in high demand and regularly lectures both in the UK and abroad. The Julian lecture in 2012 will be his last public contribution before stepping down from the chairmanship of the Friends of Julian.
